Update...

This has seriously been the craziest month ever. Not even kidding. I have tons of updates to post, I just need to get the pictures ready to post. Here are some things to come:
-Grandpa's funeral
-Petting zoo
-Cabin with the family
-Moving!
Yup, that's right! We're moving! This weekend, actually! We have an offer in on a house, and it's moving faster than we anticipated. We sold our contract for our condo and we're moving in with my parents until we close! More details to come!

Anyway, here are just some general updates on us (complete with horrible quality cell phone pics!)
Cutest kids ever.
Lucy is so funny.
-She doesn't understand the question "why". It doesn't matter how I phrase it, when I ask her why she did something or why she wants something her answer is always "Right now". Eh? Not when, why. She doesn't get it.
-Lucy loves Sleeping Beauty. You know the song on it where they sing "Hail to the Princess Aurora!" Lucy has it a little confused. She sings "Kung fu the Princess Aurora!" Opera style.
-Lucy got Princess Pollys in exchange for her binky at rest times. She named the Cinderella one Princess Eileen. Here is why.
-Lucy adores Lylah. Lylah adores Lucy. I love it.
-Lucy learned how to open doors. Finally. In fact, she just went in Lylah's room and woke her up from her nap. Blast. I'll be back...
-Lucy never smiles for pictures any more. I finally got this adorable one of her. Cute right?
Ah ha! Trick move!
Lucy has become a little photographer (i'm so proud. sniff.). She took this at our family reunion of Uncle Mark. Surprisingly artistic.
When I put Lylah in this outfit (the beanie hat), Lucy said "Oh! Lylah's a skateboard guy now?" What?! How does she know skateboard guys wear beanies?!
Lylah is obsessed with eating anything and everything.
See?
And here...
Lucy's arm is good...
Paper is great! (Who needs a dog, right?)
She'll eat toy bottles Lucy gives her.
She loves real food too...
Sweet potatoes!
And a few more pictures, just because I think they're cute. :)

She looks so peaceful when she sleeps...
Lylah, rockin' Lucy's weird Dora sunglasses...
Lylah and Tommy. Only 7 weeks apart!
Cutest baby ever. :)

Old Friends!

I love seeing old friends. It just makes my week.

A few weeks ago we went to my friend Ashley's apartment and saw Ashley; Jessica her hubby Tyler, and their little girl Maddi; and Jenna and her hubby Isaiah. We went swimming (well, we didn't because Lucy refused to nap earlier. But everyone else did), and ate dinner. It was so fun!

I have been friends with these girls since 6th grade. Even though we don't see each other often we have a ball every time we get together!

This is Jenna's new hubby Isaiah. Apparently he hadn't ever held a baby before, so Jenna wanted a picture. Sadly, right after this picture we realized that Lylah had pooped through everything. It was not a great first experience for Isaiah. :)

About a week later, we got together with my other group of friends from high school. It was SUCH a blast to see everyone again! Everyone was able to make it except Kendyl and Karl. We missed them. But we loved seeing everyone else!

The group has really grown with all the spouses and babies! So fun!

95 years...

This last weekend we had a very eventful weekend. We went to Boise for my Great Grandma's 95th birthday party. Here's the story...

So we left for the trip on Friday early afternoon. Several hours into the drive our car started having problems. Gah! Eventually we had to switch me and the girls into my sister's car and Kyle was going to take our car back to the closest town. By this point it was about 6 on Friday night. We were at the bottom of a big hill, and it took Kyle several hours to get about 15 miles. So frustrating! No mechanics were open when he got there, so he checked into a hotel and went to bed.

Meanwhile, we continued up to Boise. We finally made it to our hotel at about 10:30. The girls got to sleep just after midnight. Megan and our luggage (pj's and all) were with my cousins. They didn't get to our place until about 1:30. It was so late.

The next morning, Kyle found a mechanic. The car's problem has to do with the transmission, but is fixable, which we're grateful for. He was able to take the car back home, and then he was so sweet and drove all the way back up to Boise (5 1/2 hours!).

We spent the morning and early afternoon with my dad's cute cousins and their families. They fed us and took us swimming. The girls loved it!

Then Saturday evening was the big party. It was so fun! The girls were exhausted, and slept through the first bit. Kyle made it just as dinner was getting started. We were so glad!

And the party...

Cousins!
Uncle Allen sang during the program:
Grandma loved it:
Papa tried to get Lucy to sing "happy birthday", but she was being too shy in front of all the people. She did sing it for Grandma two other times, with less people watching. :)
My cute grandmas:
Mark and Megan did a jazz piece:
Both of my grandmas enjoyed it:
Grandma thanked everyone for coming:
We did 3 cheers for grandma: :)
My dad's cousin Becky made Grandma a bouquet of 95 chocolate roses:
Grandma was very pleased:
Several of Grandma's daughters paid tribute to her as well:

After the program, we did pictures.
Here is Grandma with her 5 girls:
5 generations! Grandma Shaffer, Grandma Stout, Dad, Me, Lucy & Lylah:
Lucy and Papa with my dad's cousin and the other great-great-grandchild, Gage:
Lucy got really tired at the end. Papa was carrying her around on his shoulders:
Every once in a while, she would get this really sad face. She was so tired she could barely function. :)
Grandma has 3 great-great-grandchildren. Lucy, Lylah, and Gage:
This is one of my favorites from the day. Lucy and Lylah really loved their grandma:
Isn't she beautiful?
Love this lady!

Before we left on Sunday afternoon, we went to Grandma's house. Lylah was so funny, she just stared at Grandma every time she saw her and would get the biggest grin on her face when Grandma would look at her.

On the way home, Lucy was so good. She just sat in the back quietly coloring pictures. At the very end she was so tired, and we ended up pulling out the little dvd player. She was amazed that she could "watch a show" in the car!

4 months!

Lylah turned 4 months on Thursday! I don't even know how that's possible, but it's true.

She gets cuter every day. Often I can't take the cuteness and I just have to kiss and snuggle her. It makes it hard to get anything done around here.
Anyway, here are her 4 month stats:
Weight: 13 lbs. 15 oz. (59%)
Height: 24.25 inches (51%)
Head: 16.1 inches (49%)

And because I want to be fair, one from our photo shoot last night of this little beauty:
