Bummer

I've never been much of a downer. People who complain about every little thing irritate me. But let me tell you, today was one of those days FULL of bummer things!

1st- Lucy was the worst napper ever. Which means she was the most grouchy ever. Yuck.

2nd- My car was having major troubles last week. And it turns out it is the transmission. Yup. It's going to cost around $2,600. Ridiculous. Good thing we've got some savings.

3rd (and the worst!)- My cute little brother Mark was supposed to get home from his mission this Thursday. And because of the darn volcano in Iceland, he can't come home from Germany! No missionaries are going in or out of all of Europe this week. He'll be home next week, but it's like being overdue with a baby. Not the end of the world, but it stinks.

But, on a happier note:

1st- My cute grandma and grandpa came to visit tonight. Lucy has the funniest relationship with my grandpa, she totally pretends she doesn't like him, but really, she does. He was making her (and us) laugh so hard. I got the very end of it on video. She was about out of laughs, but she wasn't crying!

2nd- My awesome mother-in-law came and got my car keys and took them down to the car for me-it was like a 50 minute round trip, how sweet is that?! I was so grateful!

3rd- Mark is still on his mission! He's such an awesome example, he's still worthy to be there, and his service has been an amazing blessing to us all! And, I get to see him in a week and a half!

Spring Break

I'm not sure if Lucy and I are legal to call last week spring break. There were actually zero changes for us-I still had school, Kyle still had work. But my family was on spring break, so we got to do some fun things with them.

We went up to Salt Lake with my mom, Megan, John, and my aunt and her kids. We just walked around temple square, went to the beehive house, etc. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was really nice!

We call this look ^ the "cheese ball" grin. She does it to everyone. It's weird. But really cute!

She's so cute!

The Birthday Party!

Oh man, I'm slow getting these up here. But here are some of the highlights from Lucy's birthday party.

When? Monday, March 22, 2010
Where? Our house
Food? Spoon Tacos (yum!), fresh fruit, cake, ice cream
Party Theme? Mickey Mouse Club House
(the only t.v. show Lucy has ever seen. We think she likes it...at least it entertains her for about 30 seconds.)
Gifts? Lots! But some include musical toys, balls, clothes, a bracelet, and an amazing hand drawing of Lucy from uncle Bryan.
Guest List:
-My parents and siblings (G & G Stout, Megan and John)
-Kyle's parents and siblings (G & G Johnson; Justin, Jessica, and Capri; Kendra, Mikey, and Ellie; Paul; Travis; Kali; Kara; Tevin)
-My grandparents (G & G Austin)
-Ryan and Alayne (my cousin and his wife)

We missed Chelsey (on choir tour), Bryan (at school), and of course Mark (on his mission).

Here are a few pictures of the guests. I didn't get all of them. Sorry!

My mom and grandma Austin.
Three grandpas! My grandpa Austin, my dad, Kyle's dad.
Two uncles, Tevin and John.
Ellie and Lucy playing with new toys!
Travis and Paul. Awkward.
Aunt Kali!
Aunt Kendra, Lucy, me, and Kyle.
Uncle Justin, Aunt Jessica, and cute little Capri.
Aunt Kara. She was really into that book. (:

And here are a few of the other events of the evening.

Her birthday cakes! The little one was hers, the big one was for everyone else.
Lucy and Grandma! Cute!
Opening some presents. (John is being a pest in the background.)

Lucy's Cake!
Blowing out the candles!
Yummy!
So excited! Notice the total lack of mess. She was picking sprinkles off one at a time. So daddy pushed her hand into the cake...
And she started bawling!

Once her hand was clean again she was alright, but the cake sure was anti-climactic!
