Family party

Since the girls birthdays are so close together, we did a big family party for both of them. I've been planning it since we moved into our new house, and it went perfectly! We had a lot of guests--those girls are so loved! Grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Here is the food (okay, dessert) table:
 Closer up:
The cake. Oh my goodness. A friend of mine from high school is (obviously) a very talented cake maker. We did a trade for family pictures. Soooo worth it!  Contact me if you want her number. :)
Cake pops (also made by my friend). Homemade candy dots, made by myself. :) Turns out, these were the biggest hit. Will totally make these again. Find the recipe here.
Can't go wrong with peeps dipped in chocolate and sprinkles.
 Cake again. LOVE.
 Mother goose popcorn.
Veggies. Should have specified that these were for eating, not just for looks.
Cute straws. These and the giant birthday balloons can be found here
Cake again. You know you want to see it. :)

The girls also got spoiled with presents. They were so excited!

I didn't have the heart to cut the cake at this party, so we put candles in cake pops. :) Sang to Lylah first.

 Then we sang to Lucy:

Lylah was very happy to sit in the high chair and pig out.
 Lucy with Grandma-Great
Lylah and Great Grandpa, looking concerned.
Lucy and Ellie at the end of the party. :)

I'd say the day was a success. Love my little ladies!!

Happy birthday Lucy Jo!

Oh Lucy, the last three years have been the best. I love you with all my heart! Everything from your vibrant personality to all your drama. You were the best thing that had ever happened to us. Thank you for being you!

Lucy's Party

We have been birthday partying all week over here. Lucy had her first real birthday party. It was a princess party and she had so much fun!

We did 3 activities. First they decorated magic wands with glitter glue, stickers and pom poms.
Lucy and great grandma Stout.
Next, they had a royal ball. Before the party we tied ribbon onto shower curtain rings. They danced around with them to princess music.

Finally, they made homemade candy necklaces with fruitloops and gummy lifesavers.

Lucy was so excited to open presents. Her friends were so generous!

We finished off with cake and ice cream. The cake was incredible! A friend of mine from high school made it for us, and she's so dang talented!
Lucy and Ellie BFFs!
Lucy and Abby:
We forgot to take a group picture before Lucy's friend Larkyn left, but here are the rest of the party-goers.

It was such a fun party! So fun that Lucy couldn't nap in the afternoon. :)

And here is Lylah eating her cake. The top layer of the cake came off for her to eat. She was so excited!
